Donkey Sanctuary Visit

Donkey Sanctuary Visit
On a cold morning, the children of Class 1 set off for their trip to the Donkey Sanctuary armed with lots of questions.  In the run up to the trip, the children had been learning about the role of the Sanctuary throughout the world and had been finding out about the founder Dr Elisabeth Svendsen.  Having adopted a donkey named Ashley as a part of our Christian Aid Global Neighbours' award, the children were keen to see him and to find out how our adoption money helps to care for donkeys around the world.
The children were able to groom the donkeys and muck out the stables, finding out that caring for animals is actually hard work.  As the weather began to turn, and snow threatened, the children took a quick tour of the maze before the bus took them safely back to school along with our new knitted donkey - of course named Ashley.
